Privacy Policy

Protecting your personal data matters to us. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where applicable, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we process

Bookings: When you book a room through our website, we process the data you provide (first name, surname, email address, phone number, travel dates, selected room category and extras). This data is required to conclude and perform the accommodation contract.

Payments: Payments are handled through a secure payment link provided by our payment service provider Adyen. Your card details are processed exclusively by Adyen and never reach our systems.

Website use: When you visit this website, our hosting provider processes technical access data (such as IP address, date and time, browser type) in server logs, to the extent required for operation and security.

Local storage and cookies: We always use technically necessary entries in your browser's local storage (language preference, your choice about audience measurement). In addition, the Google Analytics 4 audience measurement listed under section 4 sets cookies: in the EEA and the United Kingdom only after you have given your consent, in Switzerland until you object.

3. Error and performance monitoring

This website uses Sentry, a service provided by Functional Software, Inc., to detect technical errors and measure loading performance. Processing takes place in the provider's EU region. We collect error messages with technical details about browser and device, as well as loading speed metrics. IP addresses, cookies and form contents are not transmitted.

If an error occurs, the course of the affected session is additionally recorded so that the cause can be traced. Text, input and image content are fully masked in the process. No recording takes place without an error.

4. Audience measurement and marketing

Plausible: We use Plausible Analytics, provided by Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia), to measure how the site is used. Plausible works without cookies and without cross-device recognition. No personal data and no complete IP addresses are stored; evaluation is carried out exclusively in aggregated form.

During the booking process we additionally count individual steps, such as the availability search, viewing offers and completing a booking. What is transmitted to Plausible is the property concerned and the respective step, without any amount. Booking and reservation numbers, names, email addresses, travel dates, guest numbers and voucher codes are not transmitted.

A purchase is not reported by your browser but by our server (the booking interface), and only once payment for the reservation has been received, exactly once per booking. What is transmitted is the event "Purchase", the property concerned, the amount actually paid with its currency and the type of source of your visit (such as search engine, advertising or direct access). So that Plausible can attribute the event to a visit and distinguish it from bots, our server also transmits the IP address and the browser identifier (user agent) that reached our server when the booking was submitted. Plausible does not store the IP address; it only uses it to form a visitor identifier that changes daily and cannot be traced back to you. Plausible does not receive names, email addresses, booking numbers or travel dates.

For this report we store the IP address and browser identifier for no more than 7 days and delete them earlier, as soon as the report has been made or the booking has been cancelled. The report is made regardless of your choice in the cookie notice, like the rest of the Plausible measurement. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring booking success.

We also count clicks on links to other websites, file downloads, form submissions and views of an error page. What is transmitted is the target address of the link or file and the path of the error page. The contents of the forms are not transmitted.

Google Analytics 4: We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure reach and website use. The service sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<identifier> and collects information about your visit, such as the pages you open, your browser and your device. We use Consent Mode v2: in the EEA and the United Kingdom we only measure once you have agreed in the cookie notice. In Switzerland we measure on the basis of our legitimate interest; you may object at any time. Advertising features and Google Signals are permanently switched off and there is no link to Google Ads. The data is retained for 14 months. The measurement of Google Ads advertisements described below is separate from this.

During the booking process we transmit the same steps to Google Analytics as to Plausible, plus the names of the room type and the selected rate, the number of adults and, when the booking is completed, the booking number, without any amount. Names, email addresses, telephone numbers, travel dates, voucher codes, error texts and form contents are not transmitted.

The purchase is transmitted by our server through the Google Analytics Measurement Protocol, only after payment for the reservation has been received. This happens only if you have expressly agreed in the cookie notice, in Switzerland as well: only then does your browser pass the pseudonymous analytics identifiers (client ID and session ID) to our server when the booking is submitted. What is transmitted is these identifiers, the amount paid, the currency and the booking number as the transaction ID, so that revenue is not counted twice. Without your agreement, Google Analytics receives no purchase from our server.

Your choice applies to this browser and can be changed at any time: open the cookie notice again.

Meta pixel: To measure whether our advertising on Facebook and Instagram leads to bookings, we use the Meta pixel provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Ireland). The pixel is loaded only after you have given your consent. It then sets the cookies _fbp and _fbc and transmits which pages you viewed and which booking steps you completed.

In addition, we transmit paid bookings to Meta from our own server through the Conversions API, only once payment for the reservation has been received and with the amount paid. This, too, happens only with your consent. Email address and phone number are transmitted exclusively as an irreversible SHA-256 hash, never in plain text; we do not transmit your IP address or browser identifier. The purpose is solely to attribute a booking to an advertisement, not to identify you. The pixel in your browser reports the purchase only once the page sees the payment confirmed, together with the booking number, so that Meta counts it only once alongside the report from our server.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Art. 31(1) revFADP). You may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via the analytics settings link at the bottom of the page; the pixel will then no longer be loaded. Meta also processes data in the United States. Details are set out in Meta's privacy policy.

Google Ads: To measure whether our advertisements on Google lead to bookings, we use Google Ads conversion measurement, provided by Google Ireland Limited. If you reach us through a Google advertisement and have agreed in the cookie notice, your browser keeps the click identifier of the advertisement (gclid, or gbraid or wbraid) and passes it to our server when the booking is submitted. Once payment has been received, our server transmits this click identifier, the booking number and the amount paid to Google Ads. Names, email addresses and phone numbers are not transmitted. If a booking is cancelled later, we may report it to Google Ads as retracted.

Without your agreement, no click identifier is stored and no booking is reported to Google Ads. The Google Ads tag on this website likewise sets advertising cookies only after you have agreed; until then it sends only cookieless signals under Consent Mode. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Art. 31(1) revFADP), which you may withdraw at any time via the cookie notice. Google also processes data in the United States.

5. Recipients and processors

We use the following service providers, which process personal data on our behalf, to operate the website and handle bookings:

Where service providers are based outside Switzerland or the EEA, transfers take place on the basis of appropriate safeguards (in particular standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).

6. Retention

We retain personal data for as long as it is required to handle the booking and to meet statutory obligations (in particular commercial and tax retention obligations, generally 10 years).

7. Your rights

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data processed about you, as well as the right to rectification, erasure and data portability, unless statutory obligations preclude this. Please contact chaletswiss@amanthos.com.

8. Changes

We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this website at the relevant time applies.
